I got a new bike, some new shoes, a new jacket, and wrote a simple java socket to stream out FLV’s to flash player a la Stephan Richter which is what I’m going to end up working with on a different project that I’m working with, a little startup that has an interesting idea and apparently more than a few interested investors. Hopefully all goes well : )
The thing about streaming on the socket though is that right now it’s just “spit out the file in increments” which doesn’t work for any useful purpose. I’m going to try to make it a HTTPServlet that can run on Tomcat and pass a URL variable like
which would facilitate actual seeking. That should be a cinch but it’s not really what I want to do. What I want is something independent of Tomcat that I could just run as a ServerSocket, but I don’t know how to do that, yet.
My OpenCV woes continue, and I’m still waiting on papervision, which has this amazing demo, whetting my appetite further.
